Next Generation Trust Services, LLC continues to enhance its customer service features by introducing a series of Asset Kits for clients who wish to invest in certain nontraditional assets. The reference materials are designed to simplify the self-directing process; provide investors with a complete checklist of what they need in order to invest in and maintain real estate, loans, and private placements; and provide the necessary guidelines to preserve the tax-advantaged status of their accounts. Next Generation Trust Services is a third-party administrator of self-directed retirement accounts, in which individuals make all their own investment decisions; the company provides comprehensive account administration and transaction support for these accounts.
Building on the firm’s Starter Kits introduced earlier this fall, which contain all the basic forms necessary to open all types of self-directed retirement accounts, the Asset Kits are for investors who have found specific investments they want to make. Each asset class—real estate, loans, and private placements—will have a unique Purchase Kit and Welcome Kit with all the information required to initially purchase each asset type and then to maintain the assets. Kits for other types of assets will be introduced in 2013 as well.
“The purpose of these Asset Kits is to simplify the process of purchasing and maintaining these nontraditional assets as much as possible,” said Jaime Raskulinecz, founder and CEO of Next Generation Trust Services. “For some people, the documentation process can be overwhelming. We’ve streamlined that element by packaging everything by asset type for our clients.”
The kits describe the purchase and ongoing maintenance for the particular kind of investment and:
- Give step-by-step instructions for all the documentation required.
- Provide a comprehensive “how-to” list of matters to consider prior to making the investment and after the purchase for maintaining the asset.
- Contain all the internal forms and instructions Next Generation Trust Services requires to administer the paperwork for the assets.
- Include information about prohibited transactions and disqualified individuals to help clients comply with IRS regulations.
Raskulinecz and her staff are committed to educating and supporting their clients as much as possible. For example, in addition to the kits, all employees are cross-trained to be able to answer questions about self-directed plans and help clients with their transaction needs. Next Generation Trust Services offers free monthly seminars about self-direction as a retirement wealth-building strategy to investors and their advisors, and has introduced many customer service features on its website this year.
“As awareness of the many options and benefits of self-direction grows, so does the need for better response to our clients’ needs. Our goal is to provide the most convenience and best customer service we can,” said Raskulinecz.
